"The Billey" is named after the friend who wanted something majestic, but simple. Something distinct & special, but still classic & proud. I made her this chessboard out of the most interesting cuts of walnut hardwood I could find, which are naturally wavy, twisty, and mesmerizing. The raised playing area reveals more beauty, casts soft shadows, and merits the addition of beautiful yet structural accents on the frame corners and edges.
